Sierra serves as the Director of Student Governance and Leadership. She oversees the seven professional staff members in the SGL office, advises student leaders, facilitates leadership development opportunities for students, and supports engagement with student organizations and the campus community. Sierra received her MPA from SUU and is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy here on campus. Sierra is passionate about supporting historically marginalized identities on campus and promoting inclusive excellence in the ASUU Office and within Student Affairs. Sierra is fluent in American Sign Language and in her free time enjoys running, painting, and traveling to new places.

Sijani serves as an Associate director of Budget and Finance for Student engagement. She has a diverse background in management, education, healthcare, and team leadership. Sijani has a Master’s in public Administration and Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene. Before starting on our team, she has worked as an educator for Salt Lake Community College, practiced in various private clinics as a dental hygienist, and has managed one of the biggest retail stores in Utah. When she is not at work, she loves to hike, go out in the nature, travel and spend time with her two daughters, her fur baby and her partner.

Michael Ryan serves as the Associate Director of Student Leadership & Outreach for Student Governance and Leadership. He has worked extensively in higher education and student affairs for the past eight years. Michael Ryan enjoys advising student leaders, creating leadership development opportunities, and expanding marketing and event initiatives within ASUU. He received his Master of Kinesiology from California State University, East Bay, and is currently pursuing an EdD in Organizational Leadership at the University of La Verne. In his free time, Michael enjoys playing Pokémon and cheering on his favorite sports teams with his partner and their golden retriever, Dodger.

Katie earned her Master of Arts in General Psychology from California State University, Stanislaus and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She is originally from California and enjoys hiking, crafting, and hosting murder mystery parties in her free time.

Ethan serves as the Student Governance Advisor for ASUU, and advises the Assembly, Senate, Supreme Court, Attorney General, Academic Affairs Board, Elections Board, and Government Relations Board. As the advisor for the Legislative & Judicial branches of ASUU, Ethan is responsible for managing and maintaining governance operations and coaching students through strategy, implementation, and evaluation of legislation, student-led initiatives, public relations, and communications. Ethan earned his Master of Arts in Higher Education, Student Affairs, and International Education Policy at the University of Maryland – College Park, and his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Vermont. In his free time, Ethan enjoys watching hockey and college sports, and takes every opportunity to get outside through skiing, hiking, camping, cycling, and running.

Sam serves as the Program Advisor for ASUU, where she oversees several boards, including the Campus Events Board, Sustainability, Student Immersion and Outreach, and Culture and Belonging Board. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah. Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and taking long walks outside while listening to audiobooks or podcasts.

Jazmyn is the Campus Event Assistant for Student Governance and Leadership. She is pursuing her bachelor's in Games with a minor in Animation. She is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, and enjoys drawing, video games, traveling, and hanging out with her friends whenever possible.

Andre is the Finance Assistant for ASUU and as part of the ASUU Finance Team oversees the funding for hundreds of Recognized Student Organizations and individual students who travel for academic or professional purposes. Andre is more than happy to assist students to receive funding from ASUU and is available in-person, by email or by the office phone to answer inquiries to the best of his ability. Andre earned his Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from the University of Utah in 2024 and plans to continue his education. In his free time, Andre enjoys exploring the Wasatch, playing video games or watching movies and TV, reading and spending time with family and friends.
